The Pratt Manufacturing Company was located in Joliet, IL, from 1920-1933. The company began as a hardware manufacturer in 1893 and began making decoys in 1920 with large numbers in production in 1921. Pratt bought Mason's Decoy Factory inventory in 1924 and expanded his business.
Pratt decoys had rough ridging left by the lathe-lacking sanding and finishing. Metal "Hurd" decoys, goose profile decoys and crow decoys were also made by Pratt. The Pratt Manufacturing Company was bought out by "The Animal Trap Company of America (Victor)" in 1933.
