Rhode Island

The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, Division of Fish and Game is responsible for some 28 Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) throughout the state, all of which allow waterfowl hunting during the appropriate season(s). Black Duck, American Coot, Pintails, Mallards, Mergansers, Redheads, Brant, Wood Duck, Scoters, Eiders, Canada Geese, Snow Geese, Blue Geese, Scaup, and Long-tailed Ducks may be hunted during season and within specified limits.

In addition ,the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service operates five National Wildlife Refuges (NWRs) in Rhode Island -- John Chafee, Sachuest Point, Trustom Pond, Ninigret, and Block Island -- However, only Truston Pond allows limited Canada Goose hunting in season.
